PREVIEW: Sussex welcome Worcestershire for latest Championship clash

Sussex return to The 1st Central County Ground tomorrow in the Specsavers County Championship, as they entertain Worcestershire at Hove in their latest four-day clash (11.00am start).

After defeat at Tunbridge Wells to neighbours Kent, which followed a comfortable victory over Durham at Hove the previous week, Sussex will be aiming to get back to winning ways, with four Championship matches still to come before the next break from red-ball cricket for the NatWest T20 Blast.

Sussex have a good record against visitors Worcestershire, having only lost one of their latest seven matches against the Pears, and have been defeated only twice in their last 15 matches at Hove with the New Road outfit.

With Luke Wright stepping down as captain today, Chris Nash will skipper the side for this match, as vice-captain Ben Brown remains sidelined with injury. Nash is only 35 away from the milestone of 11,000 first-class runs.

Steve Magoffin, who took match figures of 10 for 70 when Sussex last faced Worcestershire, is in the frame to return to the line-up having missed three of the four Championship matches so far this summer with a knee injury, but Laurie Evans (hamstring), Matt Machan (wrist) and Ollie Robinson (shins) are all still ruled out.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

Jofra Archer
Danny Briggs
Michael Burgess (wkt)
Harry Finch
Chris Jordan
Steve Magoffin
Chris Nash (c)
Vernon Philander
Stiaan van Zyl
Luke Wells
David Wiese
Luke Wright
