REPORT: Sharks unstoppable once again in FL t2029-Jun-2012
Sussex Sharks romped home to another win this evening in the Friends Life t20 as they comfortably saw off Kent Spitfires by 83 runs at The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove this evening.
Skipper Michael Yardy once again won the toss at The PROBIZ and the Sharks racked up another score of over 200. Chris Nash was once again amongst the runs hitting 54 from only 38 balls before Matt Prior looked even more potent smashing a swift 46 from 20 deliveries.
It was Murray Goodwin who stole the show batting-wise for the Sharks though as his unbeaten 68 came from only 31 balls to propel Sussex to a mammoth 212 for 6 from the 20 overs.
In truth the Spitfires never really looked in the hunt and it was a debutant who did the damage. Michael Rippon, who recently signed following a successful trial with the Second Eleven, claimed figures of 4 for 23 on his first outing in Sussex colours, including an incredible one-handed catch from Joe Gatting on the boundary to dismiss Adam Ball.
Kent limped to 129 all out as they were dismissed in the final over of the day and the Sharks had claimed a thumping 83 run win to move five points clear at the summit of the South Group table.
