16-Apr-2013

Sussex County Cricket Club is pleased to announce its partnership with Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (The Alex) and a vital supporter of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU), Rockinghorse has been nominated as a charity partner of Sussex County Cricket Club for the next two years.

Supporting sick children and babies across Sussex using the facilities at the Alex and the TMBU, Rockinghorse Children’s Charity raises money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment while ensuring youngsters are treated in an environment that is better suited to their needs.

Ryan Heal, Chief Executive of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, said, “We are delighted to have been nominated as the official charity partner of Sussex County Cricket Club for the next two years.

“Sussex County Cricket Club has always been known for being a genuine family club and with so many families benefiting from our work at the children’s hospital the association is a perfect fit. We look forward to a very successful partnership.”

Zac Toumazi, Chief Executive of Sussex Cricket, said, “It is really important for Sussex to continue their association with local charities and it is great to be able to welcome Rockinghorse Children’s Charity on board.

“We look forward to supporting it wherever we can in its mission to raise the vital funds required and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with everyone involved with the charity.”

About Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

Rockinghorse is a Brighton-based charity which has been supporting children for over 40 years. It was set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, who recognised there was a real need for additional resources to improve healthcare services for sick children and babies.

The charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and also supports the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. It raises money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, while ensuring that children are treated in an environment that is better suited to their needs.

Rockinghorse does not receive any government funding and so relies on the generous support of individuals, community groups, companies and trusts.
