Sussex CCC have confirmed that South African overseas star Rusty Theron has temporarily returned home due to a personal matter.
The International seamer, who has signed for Sussex Sharks for the Friends Life t20 competition, made his debut at Lord’s in the 11 run victory over Middlesex Panthers after Sussex’s first two matches in the tournament were washed out.
He has been unavailable for both of the Sharks’ victories this weekend after returning to his homeland and Sussex’s Professional Cricket Manager Mark Robinson said,
“He has had to go back to South Africa to support his family which is something we respect. At the moment though we are not sure when he is able to return”.
