SCCA 2013: Darren Lehmann accepts Patronage of Sussex Cricket World05-Aug-2013
The Sussex Cricket Combined Appeal were delighted to welcome a brand new supporter during the Australia Tour Match at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, as current coach of the tourists and former player Darren Lehmann was announced as a patron of the Sussex Cricket World and as a Vice President of the Sussex Cricket in the Community Trust.
Lehmann, who only took over as Head Coach of Australia shortly before the current Ashes series, led his side during the three-day Tour Match was finished in a draw at Hove last month.
He is seen here accepting his Sussex Cricket World ‘Patron Card’ on Day Three of the Australia match at Hove.
The Sussex Cricket Museum & Educational Trust was born out of an amalgamation of the old library and museum housed where the Herbalife South-West Stand now sits. In 2009, the Board of Sussex CCC felt it would be prudent to transfer the ownership of all its historical documents, memorabilia, books and artefacts in to a Trust for safe keeping.
Thus the SCMET was born in 2010 and re-branded as the Sussex Cricket World or SCW. As the parent name suggests there are two facets to the SCW. That of the Museum to the traditionalist and cricket lover and an Educational slant to capture interest amongst young supporters.
