SCF: Tim Shutt to leave role at Sussex Cricket Foundation

28-Oct-2016

We regret to advise that after 9 successful years, Tim Shutt, Managing Director of the Sussex Cricket Foundation has decided to leave Sussex Cricket, effective immediately, to pursue other opportunities. Clearly to lose someone of Tim’s calibre is a massive blow but we do wish Tim all the very best of good fortune for the future.

During his time with us, Tim has shaped recreational cricket, built a solid team around him and been pivotal in the merging of our recreational and professional boards. He has developed the strategy for the Sussex Cricket Foundation and built excellent stakeholder relationships. His work in making cricket more accessible in particular to those with disabilities, and in developing programmes using cricket for social good, form a big part of his legacy. Tim has been a valued member of the leadership team and will be very hard to replace.

David Bowden, Chairman of the Sussex Cricket Foundation, stated "Tim Shutt has been an inspirational leader, with huge drive, energy and commitment to the Foundation’s many objectives.  This matched with his imaginative and innovative approach to the charity’s objectives resulted in him being held in very high regard by all those involved in the Sussex Cricket Family and beyond, not least the England & Wales Cricket Board.  In particular, he is always willing to embrace change and his contribution to the unique, successful merging of the professional and recreational Boards was quite outstanding.  The Trustees will miss greatly his wit, charm and  positive attitude.  We wish him well!"

Tim Shutt said “With the Sussex Cricket Foundation now established, and with the merged Sussex Cricket model now in effect, I have taken the decision to leave to pursue new opportunities. I have had 9 great years at Sussex Cricket and feel a that fresh pair of eyes would be beneficial to take the Foundation to the next level. I have been very fortunate to have worked with some excellent people, in particular the inspirational army of volunteers working in the clubs and leagues around the County, as well as those individuals seeking to use sport as a vehicle for social good."
