SECOND ELEVEN: Big Trophy win for Sussex at Hove


Sussex’s Second Eleven beat Middlesex comfortably in their 50-over Trophy match on Friday at The County Ground.

Having won the toss and electing to bat, Sussex made 305 for 7 as Luke Wells top-scored with 91. Wicketkeeper-batsman Leo Cammish hit an unbeaten 55 whilst opener Phil Salt made 45.

In reply Sussex bowled out Middlesex for only 187 as seamer Abi Sakande ripped through the visiting line-up, taking 5 for 44. There were also three wickets for Chris Liddle and a scalp for Ashar Zaidi as Sussex won by 118 runs.
