SECOND ELEVEN: Brown hits century as Sussex are ahead on Day One21-Aug-2013
Ben Brown struck a century on Day One of Sussex’s Second Eleven Championship match with Northamptonshire at Horsham yesterday as the hosts ended the day 99 runs ahead.
His 182-ball innings was the mainstay of the Sussex innings of 214 all out, as opener Luke Wells (23), James Anyon of the lower order (30) and wicketkeeper Callum Jackson (20) were the only other batsmen to really get to grips with the visiting attack.
In reply, Northants reached 115 for 3 as Will Beer grabbed the wickets of both openers and Anyon dismissed skipper Matthew Spriegel.
