SECOND ELEVEN: Defeated by strong Gloucestershire side22-Jul-2013
Sussex’s Seconds were beaten by nine wickets last week by a strong Gloucestershire outfit at Frocester CC.
After the hosts racked up 433 for 6 declared on Day One, Sussex were shot out for 152 in their first innings with trialist Nathan Hawkes top-scoring with a knock of 51.
The follow-on was duly enforced and Sussex were indebted to Ollie Graham (pictured), who hit a fantastic 147 in an attempt to defy Gloucestershire. He was well supported by Michael Rippon (44) and Andy Miller (37) as the visitors made a much-improved total of 366 all out.
But Gloucestershire were too strong and sealed a nine-wicket win reaching their victory target of 85.
