SECOND ELEVEN: Four for Sakande as Sussex bowl out Glamorgan at Nomads

Abi Sakande claimed four wickets for Sussex’s Second Eleven yesterday on the opening day of their Championship match with Glamorgan, at Preston Nomads CC.

Sakande’s figures were 4 for 46 as the visitors were bowled out for 323 on the opening day, before Sussex reached 57 for 1 at the close, with Sakande at the crease as nightwatchman.

It looked at one stage as though Glamorgan would be bowled out for less than 200 but a ninth-wicket partnership of 157 between Craig Meschede (91) and Tom Cullen (85) boosted the total.

George Garton (3 for 36) and Ajmal Shahzad (1 for 73) were also amongst the wickets whilst Steve Magoffin bowled 19.2 overs, taking 2 for 41.

Phil Salt was the Sussex batsman to fall in the reply for 15 but Angus Robson is unbeaten on 34.

Play resumes at 11.00am at Preston Nomads CC and entrance is FREE. For directions to the ground, please click HERE
