SECOND ELEVEN: Hamilton-Brown helps Sussex take the lead at Horsham22-Aug-2013
Sussex’s Second Eleven lead Northamptonshire by 70 runs at Horsham going into Day Three of their Championship clash at Cricket Field Road.
After the hosts were dismissed for 214 on Day One, Northants were eventually bowled out for 325 yesterday with Will Beer finishing with impressive figures of 5 for 85 from his 34 overs. James Anyon was also amongst the wickets with 4 for 52 and Luke Wells picked up the other wicket. Olly Stone top-scored for the visitors with 71 in the lower order.
And Sussex really set about taking the lead in the match as Rory Hamilton-Brown (pictured) scored 91 and Ben Brown picked up where he left off the previous day, following up his century with an unbeaten knock of 72 to help Sussex to 181 for 2 by the end of the day.
