SECOND ELEVEN: Season finishes with big win over Durham06-Sep-2013
The Sussex Second Eleven ended the season on a high yesterday as they comfortably beat Durham in their three-day friendly at Preston Nomads Cricket Club.
After a mammoth 405 for 7 declared in their first innings before bowling their visitors out for 202, Sussex were all out for 162 in their second innings to set the North-East side a target of 366 runs to win the match.
And the Sussex bowlers were rampant once again as they bowled Durham out for only 139. Trialist Ashar Zaidi added four more wickets to the two he took in the first innings. Andy Miller (pictured) took three to hand him match figures of 7 for 73 and there was a wicket apiece for Amjad Khan, Sam Grant and Josh Hayward.
