SECOND ELEVEN: Second victory over Guernsey16-May-2013
Sussex’s Second Eleven made it two wins out of two on there mini tour of Guernsey this week as they beat the Islanders by 88 runs in a 40-over match today.
Following yesterday’s Twenty20 victory over Guernsey at the KGV Sports Ground in Castel, Sussex won the toss and elected to bat at the same venue.
They made 195 for 9 from their allotted 40 overs with trialist Nitesh Patel opening the batting and top-scoring with a knock of 68. Fellow opener Callum Jackson scored 28 and Michael Rippon also chipped in with 20. Jeremy Frith was the pick of the bowlers for Guernsey, with figures of 4 for 31.
In reply, Sussex bowled out their hosts inside 34 overs as they made 107 all out. Will Beer (pictured) was the star of the show for Sussex, taking 4 for 18 from 7 overs. Rippon also picked up a couple of wickets along with Fynn Hudson-Prentice (2) and Elliott Hooper.

The Seconds are next in action on Tuesday (21st May) when they travel to Taunton Vale to take on Somerset in a Second Eleven Trophy game, before three days against the West Country outfit in the Second Eleven Championship from Wednesday.
