SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex amongst the runs on Day Two at Hove


There were runs for Fynn Hudson-Prentice, Luke Wells and Ashar Zaidi on Day Two of Sussex’s Second Eleven Championship match with Gloucestershire at The County Ground, Hove yesterday.

Sussex bowled out their opponents for 202 on Day One on Monday as Matthew Hobden was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 for 45 whilst Jon Lewis and Abi Sakande claimed two wickets apiece.

The hosts then made 290 as opener Wells made 78 but the top-score of the innings came from Hudson-Prentice (pictured), batting at number six, as he hit 89 from 97 balls. Zaidi made the other main contribution, scoring 48.

At the close of play on Day Two yesterday, Gloucestershire had reached 100 for 2 which represents a slender lead of 12 runs, Daniel Doram and Hudson-Prentice with the wickets.

The final day’s play in this match begins at 11.00am this morning at Hove and entrance is of course FREE
