Stuart Whittingham took eight wickets in the match for Sussex

Stuart Whittingham took eight wickets in the match as Sussex’s Second Eleven sealed a comfortable victory over Glamorgan today in the Championship.

After reducing the hosts to 58 for 5 before stumps lastnight, the Sussex attack picked up where they left off this morning as paceman Whittingham claimed figures of 4 for 37.

Skipper Ollie Robinson was also amongst the wickets in the second innings as he took 4 for 47 as Glamorgan were bowled out for 106. Dan Douthwaite took the other two wickets, figures of 2 for 6 coming from 2.3 overs.

Sussex sealed victory by an innings and 35 runs, with Christian Davis scoring 258 not out yesterday, a Sussex 2nd XI record.

The Seconds are back in action next Wednesday 3rd August when they travel to New Malden to play Surrey in the Championship.
