SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex beaten by seven wickets at Southend03-Jul-2014
The Sussex Second Eleven were beaten by seven wickets this week in their three-day Championship match with Essex at Garon Park, Southend.
Sussex had a lead of 60 runs going into the final day of the match but only had two wickets remaining. After taking to the crease only three runs could be added for the final two wickets and the hosts only required 64 runs to win the match.
The reached their target for the loss of three wickets as Will Beer picked up two wickets and Fynn Hudson-Prentice (pictured) claimed the other scalp.
Sussex’s second string are back in action on Monday when they take on MCC Universities in the Second Eleven Championship at The Parks, Oxford.
