SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex bowled out on Day Two at Ageas Bowl04-Jul-2013
Hampshire’s Second Eleven lead Sussex by 178 runs in the Championship clash at the Ageas Bowl after the visitors were bowled out for 276 yesterday.
Resuming on 261 for 5, the hosts added 40 runs before declaring on 301 as Adam Rouse finished unbeaten on 113.
Sussex then took to the crease and the innings was dominated by a fantastic century by trialist Bilal Shafayat who hit 161. Fellow trial man Nathan Hawkes made 41 and Michael Rippon (pictured) chipped in with 23 but no other Sussex batsman really got going as they were dismissed 25 runs behind Hampshire’s total.
The hosts then ended the day 153 without loss with Michael Roberts and Sean Terry unbeaten on 75 and 72 respectively.
