SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex complete comfortable victory at Hove

Sussex’s Second Eleven ensured a winning start to the 2013 campaign today as they completed victory over Middlesex by 152 runs in their four-day friendly match.

The visitors began the day 4 for 1 with a target of 280 in mind to beat Sussex. But the hosts’ bowling attack had other ideas and after reducing Middlesex to 19 for 4, and later 93 for 8, they were eventually bowled out for 127 which handed Sussex a win by 152 runs.

Andrew Miller (pictured) was the star of the show with the ball taking 5 for 25 whilst trialists Michael Comber and Shaftab Khalid took two wickets apiece. Lewis Hatchett chipped in with the other wicket.

The Second are back in action on Monday 29th April when they take on Surrey in a two-day friendly match at The Sutton Winson Academy Ground, Blackstone. For directions to Blackstone, please click HERE
