SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex declare on Day One against Durham


Sussex’s Second Eleven declared on 405 for 7 yesterday on Day One of their three-day friendly with Durham at Preston Nomads Cricket Club in West Sussex.

Trialist Ashar Zaidi, who has played for Pakistan A blasted 192 from 186 balls as he became the star of the show for Sussex, batting at number five.

He was well backed up by opener Fynn Hudson-Prentice (pictured) of the Academy who scored 90. Another trailist Vic Davies hit a half-century in the lower-order as Sussex declared when they hit the 400-mark.

In reply Durham reached 19 for 1 with Andy Miller taking the only wicket so far.
