SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex in control at New Malden


Ollie Robinson grabbed a couple of wickets as Surrey declared on 327 for 9

Sussex’s Second Eleven remain in control of their three-day Championship match with Surrey at the LSE Sports Ground, New Malden, after the second day’s play finished with them leading by 156 runs.

After Sussex piled up 473 for 7 declared on the opening day, with Gareth Harte (199) and Jonty Jenner (116) both making centuries, Surrey reached 327 for 9 declared from 96.1 overs in reply.

Brad Evans starred with figures of 3 for 40 whilst there were two wickets apiece for Ollie Robinson and Will Beer.

Sussex then took to the crease again for the final five overs in the day and reached 10 without loss to boost their lead to 156 when play resumes at 11.00am this morning.
