SECOND ELEVEN: Sussex well on top against Hampshire at Horsham

Ollie Robinson top-scored with 94 as Sussex took control at Horsham

Ollie Robinson top-scored with 94, before George Garton fired a three-wicket burst as Sussex took control of their three-day Championship match with Hampshire at Horsham yesterday.

Skipper Robinson needed only 81 balls for his knock as Sussex made 342 to claim a first-innings lead of 28 over their south coast neighbours.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice hit 70, batting at number three, and Craig Cachopa (58) and Will Beer (40) were the other main contributors as Sussex put the pressure on their visitors.

And the pressure told as the Sussex bowlers starred to reduce Hampshire to 71 for 5. Garton claimed three scalps for 18 runs whilst Robinson and Abi Sakande were the other wicket takers.

Play resumes at 11.00am this morning at Horsham and entrance is of course FREE.
