HIGHLIGHTS & STUMPS: Anyon takes four as Durham dismissed for 24504-Sep-2013
Sussex dismissed Durham for 245 as Mark Stoneman fell four short of his fourth century of the season on Day One of the LV=County Championship match which began yesterday.
Needing six points to overhaul Yorkshire at the top of Division One, Durham managed only one batting point when they were all out for 245, with James Anyon starring with four wickets and both Lewis Hatchett and Steve Magoffin claimed three wickets apiece. But in 22 overs the hosts also earned a bowling point as Sussex slipped to 60 for three.
The third wicket went to Mitchell Claydon with his second ball following his recall from a three-month loan spell at Kent, who have signed the seamer for next season.
Durham need him at present because they have three pacemen injured plus Ben Stokes on England one-day duty, but Sussex are equally depleted and handed a debut to 18-year-old all-rounder Harry Finch.
