HIGHLIGHTS & STUMPS: Anyon takes two late wickets but Yorkshire handily placed at Hove12-Sep-2013
Jimmy Anyon’s two late wickets at Hove gave Sussex some late impetus as Yorkshire batted for most of Day Two, in the LV=County Championship Division One clash at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, however the visitors are only 46 runs behind with six wickets remaining.
After Sussex were bowled out for 292 this morning , losing the final wicket of Lewis Hatchett for 21 and seeing Ben Brown stranded on 84 not out, Yorkshire reached 25 without loss before Steve Magoffin snared Phil Jaques leg-before.
Adam Lyth (93) and Kane Williamson put on 164 for the second wicket before Ashar Zaidi picked up his first LV=CC wicket, with Lyth edging to Matt Prior at slip.
Anyon then picked up the wicket of skipper Andrew Gale (28) as he edged behind to Brown and then made a mess a of Jonny Bairstow’s stumps – the England man making only 8.
Williamson was unbeaten on 80 with night-watchman Steve Patterson accompanying him at the crease at play finished at around 5.30pm.
