STUMPS: Curtailed day ends with Sussex narrowly ahead13-Sep-2013
Sussex bowled out Yorkshire for 326 on Day Three of their LV=County Championship clash at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, a day that was curtailed by a wet outfield, rain and bad light at various intervals throughout the day.
Play didn’t begin until 2.10pm following a wet outfield in the morning session and heavy rain at lunchtime but when it did resume, Sussex did a good job in restricting their visitors by taking their final six wickets for only 80 runs.
Ashar Zaidi (pictured), on Sussex debut, finished with figures 4 for 57 whilst Jimmy Anyon also claimed three victims.
Sussex set about batting for the remaining overs of the day and lost two wickets. Luke Wells was bowled by Ryan Sidebottom without scoring whilst Michael Yardy was the second man to go when he drove Liam Plunkett to Phil Jaques in the covers for 15.
Chris Nash (21) and Ed Joyce (4) are the not out batsmen overnight as play ceased at around 5.20pm due to bad light. Sussex have a narrow lead of 14 runs going into the fourth and final day at Hove which begins at 10.30am tomorrow.
