STUMPS: Sussex beaten at Durham in Championship

Sussex were beaten today by 309 runs at the Emirates ICG, as Durham claimed the final wicket they needed on the fourth day's play in Chester-le-Street.

The visitors had collapsed to 173 for 9 before the close of play lastnight after being set a stiff target of 492 runs to beat the reigning champions.

But Sussex could only add nine runs this morning before Lewis Hatchett was snared by Chris Rushworth, dismissing them for 182.

Kent loanee James Tredwell did reach his half-century as he top-scored for the innings.
