STUMPS: Yorkshire fail to cross Jordan as Sussex take control10-Apr-2013
Sussex bowled Yorkshire out for only 96 on the first day of their opening LV=County Championship clash at Headingley today.
And they also backed up a superb bowling performance by taking an 8 run lead by the end of the day as they closed on 104 for 3 at the close of play, thanks to a knock of 80 from Chris Nash.
Earlier, it was debutant Chris Jordan (pictured), making his first competitive appearance for Sussex since his winter move from Surrey, who ripped through the Yorkshire batting line-up taking figures of 6 for 48. He was ably supported by the more familiar Sussex bowling names of James Anyon and Steve Magoffin who both chipped in with two wickets apiece. Jonny Bairstow was the only Yorkshireman to offer any resistance, top-scoring with 29.
