YOUTH: The Sydney Cricket Ground XI visit Sussex

Sussex County Cricket Club are currently hosting The Sydney Cricket Ground Youth XI from Australia. Fourteen young SCG Members aged 14 to 16, are currently undertaking a 15-day trip in England to play cricket and represent the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The youth XI spent Monday the 29th June in Hove, at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground. The group had a full on day at the ground, which included a training session and a tour.

The Sydney Cricket Ground has host over 100 Test cricket matches, the ground has a strong membership of 18,000 people. The SCG members play for the SCG XI, 2015 has seen the creation of the SCG Youth XI which been selected from the junior members.

SCG Youth XI Team Manager Rossco Barrat said "The SCG XI is delighted & honoured to have the opportunity to visit Sussex CCC. As England’s oldest first-class cricket county, SCCC reflects the history & traditions of the game we wish our junior members to be exposure to. Keith Greenfield has developed the best academy program in England it makes SCCC the obvious choice for our tour preparation“

“The County Ground has offered a world class professional cricket experience for our boys."

The youth team begin their tour on Tuesday 30th June against Ardingly College, Oxford and Cambridge are just two of the oppositions the youth team will face over the next two weeks.
