TREASURER: Ed Putnam appointed new Honorary Treasurer for Sussex CCC21-Jul-2014
Sussex County Cricket Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Putnam FCA to the position of Honorary Treasurer.
Ed is a qualified accountant who runs his own consultancy providing Finance Director services to businesses and he is also the Treasurer for the two charities linked to Sussex Cricket.
Jim May, Sussex Chairman, said “Ed Putnam has been appointed Honorary Treasurer, taking over from Simon Crundwell who has carried out the role with distinction for over five years. Simon has been appointed Chair of the Estates Committee with a brief to oversee the next phase of our ground development.
“Ed is a long standing supporter of Sussex with plenty of relevant experience, having been a finance director for several companies in the last sixteen years. Our new Honorary Treasurer has been co-opted as a non-executive director of the Board.
“Sussex Cricket is in good shape but there is much work to do. We have clear plans to improve our business model and Ed will help our Chief Executive and his team deliver a Profit Improvement Plan to enable us to invest in cricket.
“In addition, the Honorary Treasurer will be a key person as we move forward with our plans to integrate the professional and recreational governing bodies to form Sussex Cricket in November 2015. The appointment of Ed is the first step of a plan to recruit fresh talent to strengthen our Board going forward.”
