UPDATE: Sussex pressing for victory

Will Beer celebrates one of six first-innings wickets at Arundel today

Sussex took two more wickets in the afternoon session as they pushed for a three-day win over South Africa A at Arundel.

The tourists had followed on 273 behind after Will Beer took career-best figures of 6 for 29 in their first innings as they were dismissed for 185.

They were struggling second time around too. Abi Sakande removed both openers Aiden Markram and Tembo Bavuma before lunch, Bavuma to a great return catch in the paceman's follow-through for a golden duck.

After lunch Sakande was celebrating again when Jason Smith (8) was well held at mid-wicket by Phil Salt. That left South Africa A 55 for 3 and after a partial recovery to 89 they lost a fourth wicket when Beer picked up Rudi Second for 21, to a catch at slip by skipper Harry Finch.

The main resistance was provided by Zondo who reached a 106-ball half-century just before tea when he drilled Beer through the covers for his seventh boundary. Willem Mulder was giving him good support at the other end as they posted only the second 50-stand of the match for their side.

At tea, the visitors were 145 for 4, needing another 128 to make Sussex bat again with Zondo 62 and Muller 22.
