Sussex CCC were delighted to welcome West Indian cricketing legend Sir Vivian Richards to The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove on Friday evening in the latest event in our ‘Where Cricket Meets…..’ series.

With around 300 guests packing out the Boundary Rooms, Sir Viv took part in a fascinating question and answer session with former Sussex batsman and current SCCC Business Relationship Manager Tony Cottey, and Vic Marks, the former England and Somerset all-rounder and now cricket journalist from The Guardian.

Richards of course enjoyed playing County Cricket for both Somerset and Glamorgan, where he won the one-day league title with the Welsh side in 1993. He also spoke of his achievements with the West Indies and kept the crowd in attendance entertained.

We have now been lucky enough to welcome an array of sporting stars to Hove for the ‘Where Cricket Meets….’ series including Paul Merson, Phil Bennett, Bob Champion, Ravi Shastri and even World Cup Referee Howard Webb.

And next in line is the one of the fastest bowlers ever to have played Test cricket in the shape of outspoken Australian Jeff Thomson.  He played over 50 matches for Australia and his aggressive action was a fearsome sight for many batsmen, so we’re sure to hear plenty of tales from his career in the game.

On Thursday 21st June you can join us with Thommo in the Boundary Rooms for a three-course dinner, for only £45 per person or £450 inc VAT for a table of ten.

To book for this unique occasion, please call Matt Wood on 01273 827102 or e-mail
