WINDIES: Day Two Report and Refund Policy06-May-2012
It was another frustrating day at The PROBIZ County Ground as rain, a wet outfield and bad light all played its part in a heavily-curtailed day between Sussex and West Indies.
Only 18 overs were possible after play eventually begun at 2.45pm, as bad light and further rain made sure there was no more play after around 4.00pm.
Sussex won the toss and after electing to field, made a breakthrough in the ninth over when Kirk Wernars bowled opener Adrian Barath. The left-arm seam of Chris Liddle then accounted for Kirk Edwards, Chris Nash taking an excellent catch in the slips.
Despite the Hove floodlights doing their bit to enhance the light, the natural light was not good enough for play to continue at the tourists will resume on 46 for 2 tomorrow. Play will begin at 11.00am, weather permitting, and tickets for purchase on the day are £10.00 for Adults and Juniors (Under 18) are free. The Greene King Beer Festival will be taking place regardless of the weather.
Due to there being less than 25 overs play today, ADULT tickets for today can be used for any LV=County Championship match (at Hove only), or for the Unicorns game on Sunday 13th May in the Clydesdale Bank 40. They can also be used on Monday’s play against West Indies. Saturday tickets (when there was no play at all) are also valid for Monday.
Refunds will only be offered in exceptional circumstances, with applications to be made in writing to the Ticket Office.
