The England Under-19’s have won two games out of three so far in the World Cup as Sussex’s Harry Finch again contributed with the bat in Dubai.
Finch hit 30 as England made 229 for 8 from their 50 overs against New Zealand today who were bowled out for 114 in reply. He followed up scores of 49 against the UAE and 24 against Sri Lanka and will next be in action on Saturday when the feature in the quarter-finals.
Professional Cricket Manager Mark Robinson is currently leading the England Lions Tour to Sri Lanka. You can hear from him HERE thanks to Sussex TV but in terms of results, England are 1-0 up in the unofficial Test series after they saw off their hosts by 167 runs in Pallekele last week. There are two further Test matches to take place, in Dambulla and Colombo.
Sussex skipper Ed Joyce is currently in the West Indies with Ireland who face the Caribbean side in two T20 matches and an ODI match this week, which all take place at Sabina Park in Jamaica.
Matt Machan enjoyed a fantastic World Cup Qualifying campaign in New Zealand last month as Scotland sealed their place at the 2015 tournament, which takes place in Australia and NZ. His side won the tournament, beating the UAE in the final and his top scores of 78 and 68 came in the matches against Namibia and Canada respectively.
Chris Jordan and Luke Wright will soon be joining up with the England tour party for the T20 and ODI series in the Caribbean before heading to Bangladesh for the ICC World Twenty20.
