WOMENS: Sussex announce teams for two matches this weekend

20-Jul-2012

`
After last weekend’s matches against Kent and Nottinghamshire being called off due to the weather, the Sussex Women hope to get two matches in this weekend after a month of no cricket.

On Saturday, the Women are away to Somerset at Sherborne School in Dorset, whilst on Sunday they are at home to Middlesex at St James Montefiore. It will be the first time the Women have played at St James Montefiore and they hope they can help encourage more junior girl and senior women cricketers to play at the club who started a Women & Girls section in 2011. Sussex will look to get maximum points from both matches to try and secure a place in the finals in September.

It will be a busy few weeks for the Women, as on the 30th & 31st July they have the T20 competition and then on Sunday 5th August they host Berkshire at The PROBIZ County Ground in the County Championship (free entry to all at Hove on that day).

Sussex Women’s Coach Charlotte Burton said, “It will be great to get the team back and hopefully play some cricket this weekend. It’s been a while since we were last together as a team and everyone is determined to get two good wins this weekend with maximum points and continue where we left off in June against Yorkshire.”
