WOMENS: Paige Scholfield makes three hundreds in four T20 matches to lead Under-17s to Finals01-Aug-2013
The Sussex Women's Under-17s claimed their spot in the National T20 Finals, after winning all three of their regional matches and then going on to win the regional final.
They will join the Sussex Women and Sussex Under-15s who have also won their regional rounds in the last few weeks to reach the National T20 finals, showing that Sussex are dominating in this competition through all the age groups.
Sussex Under-17 all-rounder Paige Scholfield (pictured) set the County Under-17 T20 competition alight, scoring three centuries in four matches over two days. Her total run tally was 356 being dismissed only once, along with taking three wickets for 14 runs in one match. In the first match against Oxfordshire Sussex scored 176 for 3 off their 20 overs, with Scholfield making 105 not out off 66 balls, including sixteen fours and two sixes, before Sussex won their second match against Essex and were certain of a place in the final whatever happened in their final match.
In the final group match against Kent, Sussex scored 151 for 2 and again Scholfield made her second century with 102 not out off 72, again scoring sixteen fours.
The final saw Sussex faced Essex again, and with an unbeaten opening partnership of 206 from openers Izzy Collis 54 not out and Scholfield scoring her third century of 134 not out off just 71 balls, which included twenty one fours and six sixes, helping Sussex win the match and win the regional final to reach the National Final alongside the Women and the Under-15s.The Under-17s National Final will be held at Leamington CC on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th August. The Under-15s National Final will also be held at Leamington CC on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th August. The Women’s T20 National Final will be held on Saturday 7th September, venue still TBC.

Paige Scholfield’s three hundreds is something I have never heard been done in Women’s T20 cricket especially over two days and is an incredible achievement. I know the players will look to win all the T20 trophies and I know each squad has the ability to do it.”
