WOMENS: Six Sussex players in Super 3's11-May-2014
The ECB Super 3’s, which showcase the best 36 Women players in the Country, begun this weekend up in Loughborough, with three T20 matches followed by 50 over matches on the 17th, 31st May and 7th June.
Six players from Sussex have been included in the top 36; Sussex captain Sarah Taylor and vice-captain Georgia Elwiss, Georgia Adams, Freya Davies, Izi Noakes and Paige Scholfield have all been included.
Scholfield and Davies are currently on the Sussex Academy and have been working hard to develop their game further through Cricket Performance Manager Keith Greenfield, a system which has seen Taylor, Adams and Noakes already progress.
All six players have been through the England set up, with Taylor and Elwiss currently in the full England squad, Davies in the England Academy, Scholfield in the EWDP U19 programme and Adams and Noakes, who are now out of age, were on the EWDP U19 programme in 2013.
It is expected that England's selection for the series against India and South Africa in August will mostly be made through the Super 3’s.
