WOMENS: Sussex celebrate incredible season at Presentation Evening

The Sussex Women & Girls County Squads celebrated one of their most successful seasons on Saturday night at The County Ground with their annual Presentation Evening.

The Women have obviously had another successful season after being crowned County Champions and reaching the T20 National Final, but the Under-17's dominated the evening after being crowned double champions, winning the County Championship and the National T20. They also won the Sussex Team of the Year award as well as batsman Paige Scholfield winning Outstanding Performance Award for her three hundreds in two days at the T20 Regional Final.

The Women’s Player of the Season gong went to all-rounder Arran Brindle who performed in all areas, as well as taking on the captaincy a number of times, whilst the Player's Player Award, as voted for by the team, was won again this year by Georgia Elwiss, who also claimed the batting award.

Alexia Walker took the Bowling Award as well as the Charlotte Burton Endeavour Award, for playing in the County Championship Final with a broken finger and becoming the most capped player to ever play for Sussex. She is seen receiving the award from Charlotte herself below.

Sussex Manager Terry Burton who has been involved with the Sussex WCA for more than 22 years, was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Sussex WCA Award. He is pictured below receiving the accolade from Sussex's Head of Cricket Development Tim Shutt.

Director of Sussex Women’s Cricket Charlotte Burton said, “ The evening was a great success and a great way to have all the players, Junior and Senior, along with parents, the Sussex Cricket Board and the Sussex County Cricket Club there to end a fantastic season and look back at one of the best seasons we have had in while.”
