WOMENS: Sussex face top of the table clash on Sunday

The Sussex Women are set to continue their County Championship campaign on Sunday at home to current leaders, Nottinghamshire.

Sussex will be playing at St James's Montefiore Cricket Club on Sunday from 11.00am where they hope to knock Notts from the top spot, as they are currently second in the table.

Sussex are still without captain Holly Colvin who is out injured until August with a hand injury, but Sarah Taylor (pictured) is back fully fit this weekend after being out with a calf injury and will take on the captaincy, with Arran Brindle as vice-captain.

The women lost to Yorkshire over the Bank Holiday Weekend, but came back fighting and beat last years' champions Kent the following day to still be in a chance to reach the Championship Final.

Sussex Women’s Coach, Charlotte Burton said, “This weekend’s match is going to be a crucial game as we need to make sure we come away with a win and gain enough bonus points as possible to still be in with a chance of reaching the Final. Notts are in form at the moment, especially with the bat, but we have a strong team who are adaptable in any situation and show great character, which was seen in our win against Kent.”

Entrance to the match on Sunday is FREE
