The Sussex Women begin their Royal London One Day Championship campaign this weekend, with a double-header against Warwickshire and Kent.

The Women kick off the season away to Warwickshire at the Edgbaston Foundation Ground on Sunday, where they will face a strong Bears outfit that can include Amy Jones, Rebecca Grundy and Jenny Gunn.

Sussex are then back home on Bank Holiday Monday at Eastbourne CC, against Charlotte Edwards' Kent side, which is always a fiercely contested match-up. The clash is due to begin at 11.00am and entrance to the ground is FREE.

Danni Wyatt is set to make her debut for Sussex this weekend after joining the side from Nottinghamshire and will look to impress with both bat and ball for the side. 19-year-old Sally Clarke will also make her debut for Sussex this weekend having impressed during the winter.

The Sussex side, led by Sarah Taylor, will be without opening Freya Davies who is sitting her exams at university, and Izzy Collis will miss the first match against Warwickshire, but will be back to face Kent the following day.

Sussex Director of Women's Cricket Charlotte Burton said, “We are looking forward to getting the season going this weekend and will be looking to start well and get two wins under our belt.

"We are missing a couple of players, but the good thing with our squad is that we have players who can easily step up into those places, which showed last year in our T20 win.

"We know we have two strong sides to play against this weekend and we need to make sure we perform to our high standards and put everything into these two games to show our intentions for this season. We have a good young side but with a lot of experience, and I believe we can come away with two good wins to start the off the season."
