Ragheb Aga and Will Beer sign new two-year contracts with Sussex CCC - SCCC Press Release

Sussex CCC is pleased to announce that Ragheb Aga and Will Beer have agreed new two-year contracts at the club.

Ragheb Aga, 24, enjoyed a successful first season on the playing staff. Ragheb was the leading wicket taker in One Day Cricket for the Second XI with an average of 14.17. Aga played 5 first-class matches for Sussex this year – taking 9 wickets and returning an impressive average of 25.77. Aga also played two one-day matches for the first team and represented his home nation, Kenya, in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers in August.

William Beer, 20, also had a successful first season on the playing staff. Will played two first-class matches and four Twenty20 games for the first team and impressed with his controlled and skilful leg-spin. Beer also represented England Under-19s when New Zealand toured in July and August and was the leading wicket taker in the Youth Test Matches – taking 10 wickets at an average of 17.60, including best innings figures of 6-53.

Mark Robinson, Professional Cricket Manager, said: “Ragheb, as a bowling all-rounder, and Will, as a leg-spinner, are two exciting commodities to have at the club. If they both continue to progress as they have this season, they should have big futures within the team.”
