Arafat available for most of May
Sussex CCC is pleased to confirm that Yasir Arafat will be available for Sussex from the Friends Provident Trophy match against Surrey at Hove on Sunday 10th May.
The Pakistan Cricket Board have granted permission for Yasir to play up until the end of May. This is if he is selected for Pakistan in the ICC World Twenty20 competition, which starts on Friday 5th June.
Corey Collymore and Damien Wright arrive at Hove over the weekend, which means that Sussex have a full strength squad to pick from, apart from Jason Lewry (glandular fever) and Pepler Sandri (side strain), for their first FPT match against Gloucestershire Gladiators at Bristol on Sunday and their first LV County Championship match against Lancashire at Hove on Tuesday.
Mark Robinson, Professional Cricket Manager, said: “We are pleased to know where we sit with Yasir’s availability and this allows us to confirm our plans for this period. Damien Wright is now here to do a spell before Yasir’s arrival at Sussex. We are very much looking forward to seeing Yasir back at Hove and are excited about all that he offers.”
