Girls Under 17s reach County Championship Quarter-Final
The Sussex under 17 girls’ side have reached the quarter finals of the County Championship after winning the London and East League.
Sussex played six matches against Essex and Kent to win the league throughout the last 3 months, winning 4, losing 1 and having 1 cancelled due to the weather.
Sussex Women & Girls Community Coach, Charlotte Burton said, “It is fantastic and well deserved that the under 17’s girls side have reached the quarter finals of the County Championship. The girls’ have worked extremely hard over the winter and summer, they are a very determined side and all the players have played a major part in winning the league.”
The Quarter finals will be held in Sussex at the Academy ground, Blackstone, on Saturday 22nd August at 1pm. We have yet to know who Sussex will play on this day.
Seven players from the under 17 squad have been picked for the Junior Super 4’s competition to be held on Tuesday 18th, 19th and 21st August at Wellington College.
The junior super 4’s are the best 48 junior players selected in the Country to be play in four teams who will compete against each other over three days. Players will then be selected from the junior fours for regional winter coaching.
