Mike Yardy was on hand to cut the ribbon and speak to the press, along with veteran coach Les Lenham.
The project began late in November 2009 with the County investing in the region of £100,000. The refurbishment includes the complete replacement of the playing surface and it now includes different paced surfaces to simulate different playing conditions.
New nets have been fitted throughout, along with a new tensioned cage enabling the hall to be used for open-hall sessions whilst catering for the expanded South Area Young Cricketers League. The lighting levels in the cricket hall have also been addressed, with the levels doubling so that they are above those recommended by the ECB for cricket specific centres.
Funds have also been invested in upgrading the equipment within the school ensuring that Sussex CCC Indoor Cricket School is the premier location for individual coaching, indoor nets and cricket courses in the South East of England. The venue is also available for corporate hospitality events/meetings, and children’s parties throughout the year.
For more information on any of the above please contact the Colin Bowley at the Indoor School on 0844 264 0203 or 01273 827135.
