Fancy playing a few more cricket matches in some of the loveliest grounds in the country each summer? Want to test yourself against new opposition and have the chance to make some new friends on the circuit? Like the idea of hard-fought and fun friendly cricket...and some of the finest cricket teas around?

Then how about joining the world's most famous club, with more than 200 years of history – Marylebone Cricket Club, better known as MCC.

MCC Women cricketers play at some fantastic venues (The Parks, Fenner’s and even Lord’s!) with fixtures ranging from development level through to county and the touring international teams. They go on international tours (from Trinidad & Tobago to the Channel Islands) and are part of a club where developing cricket and promoting the Spirit of Cricket are the main priorities.

The first women Members joined MCC in 1999 and the Club now boasts some of the most distinguished women cricketers amongst its number – including world cup winners such as Claire Taylor and Caroline Atkins. There are currently around 75 female Playing Members, many of whom enjoy the privileges of being Full Members with free entry to Lord’s for all games and use of all the other facilities at the ground e.g. real tennis and squash courts.

Fancy joining? Here’s what you need to do:

• Complete a proposal form and pay a £10 registration fee

• Play at least nine games in three years to qualify

Once you have qualified you can chose between different kinds of membership ranging from £40 to £400.  Current Women’s Cricket sub-committee Members who can endorse forms are: Bev Nicholson, Katie Berry, Helen Pack, Sian Price and Jan Godman.
