Sid the Shark's the star at the RDF Roadshow
Sussex Cricket in the Community Update
It’s that time of year again when we simply can’t wait for the season to start. It’s so good to see the excitement in young people when we do assemblies and Road Shows. We’re lucky in Sussex, being able to take the Pro40 and the Ladies County Championship Trophies into schools, showing them DVD’s, talking about some of the magic days we’ve had at SCCC and how great it is to be involved in Cricket.
We have Stars here at Sussex CCC, players and coaches, but we have one enigma, one true shining light in the lives of the county’s youth - his name is Sid the Shark. Being able to meet Sid and join in the fun games with the big guy is a massive draw to the kids. At a recent assembly at St Pancreas Primary School, a school not famed for its cricketing prowess, Sid had to be given a teacher’s escort out of the school and in to the RoadShowMobile.
SCCC does leave its mark at these schools and the assemblies end with the kids buzzing with excitement, not being able to wait for the season to start and the Road Show team are no different.
The SCCC RDF Cricket Road Show aims to deliver assemblies in as many schools as possible in Sussex. If you would like your school or your children’s school to join in then please email tim.marks@sussexcricket.co.uk.
