Sussex CCC elect Bob Warren to the Board

Sussex County Cricket Club was delighted to announce at the AGM on 31 March that John Abbott, Dick Holste and Bob Warren have been elected as Directors for a three year term. Both John Abbott and Dick Holste were re-elected and Bob Warren replaces the former Sussex and England fast bowler John Snow, who decided to resign from the Board earlier this year. Their nominations were uncontested.
John Abbott had a distinguished career in the police service, both locally and nationally, and currently undertakes international consultancy work. A former club cricketer, John chairs the HR Sub Committee at Sussex CCC and lives in East Sussex.
Dick Holste, a long standing member of Willingdon Cricket Club, lives in Eastbourne and chairs the Sussex CCC Health & Safety Sub Committee. Dick is Chair of Sussex Downs College after a career as a senior manager at NatWest Bank.
Bob Warren is Managing Director of Travel Places, one of the largest sports travel companies in the UK. Bob has an expert knowledge of the sporting world, having handled travel arrangements for competitors, administrators and media attending sporting events or training camps. Amongst other projects, Travel Places look after all the British teams competing in the Formula 1 World Championship and have handled all the travel arrangements for the British teams and media in attendance at the recent Beijing Olympics and Paralympics and are currently looking after the travel arrangements for the eight boats competing in the Volvo Round-the-World Yacht race. Locally, Bob is the Cricket Manager for Middleton Cricket Club and secretary of the Sussex Cricket League.
Commenting on his election, Bob said: “Having been involved in Club cricket in the County for 15 years, and having experienced success in my business, I am delighted to have this chance to work with the Board at Sussex as we enter this very exciting new era.”
