Sussex Girls’ Coached By England Head Coach and Players
A number of players from the under 11 and 13 girls Sussex Squads were given a master class coaching session from England Head Coach, Mark Lane, England Captain, Charlotte Edwards and Sussex and England player Holly Colvin on Tuesday at Brighton College.
The session was organised by Roger Nicholson at Brighton College and Head of Women’s Cricket Clare Connor. They kindly invited a number of under 11 and 13 Sussex players to get some expert coaching from the top of game.
England have recently won the World Cup and are currently training for the Twenty20 World Cup which starts in June. Charlotte Burton, Sussex Women & Girls’ Community Coach said; “It was an honour that Brighton College and Clare Connor invited a number of players from our Sussex side to have coaching from the England stars, and to have Mark Lane, Charlotte Edwards and Holly Colvin taking time out to come and share their expertise is fantastic, not many players can say they have been coached by the England head coach and two World Cup winning players. A big thank you goes to Clare and Brighton College and also to Mark, Charlotte and Holly and everyone from Sussex wish them every success in the World Twenty20.”
The girls enjoyed the afternoon and learnt a lot from the England players, hopefully a number of those players can now go on and play for England one day like Charlotte Edwards and Holly Colvin.
