Sussex Under 15 Girls crowned County Champions
The Sussex Girls Under 15s cricket team have won the Under 15s County Championships after defeating Wales at Persmore Cricket Club, Worcestershire by 3 wickets.
Winning the toss Sussex put Wales into bat and started well with Samantha Wright taking a wicket in the first over. Sussex bowled and fielded exceptionally well, which lead to wickets being taken at regular intervals and dismissing Wales for 100 in 27 of their 35 overs, with Lauren Parfitt, from Wales top scoring with 29. The pick of the bowlers for Sussex were Samantha Wright, Georgina Aloof, Sophie Bowen and Emma Adams, who all took 2 wickets each.
Wales and Sussex were perfectly matched throughout the game, like Sussex Wales bowled and fielded well and also took wickets on a regular basis, but Sussex wicketkeeper, Carla Rudd, who earlier in the day took two excellent stumping, stayed composed and built a strong innings finishing on 37 not out and leading Sussex to become County Champions.
The Sussex under 15 side have had a fantastic season and to win the County Championship tops off a great year from them. A number of players were missing from the side as they were playing for the under 17’s, but have made vital contributions through the season to help Sussex reach the final.

Missing from the side but should be mentioned, Georgia Adams, Izi Noakes, Daisy Pamment, Imogen Hibberd, Maria Young and Chiara Green who has captained the side in the lead up to the semi final.
