21-Aug-2014St Peters Cricket Club under 13s girls have had a successful season within the Lady Taverners competition.
Having won the County round at Eastbourne back in June against other clubs in the County the side progressed to the London & East regional final held at St Albans, where they faced clubs from Kent, Essex and Norfolk.
St Peters were in a group against Bexley CC from Kent and Hutton CC from Essex. They faced Bexley CC first where they scored 38-2 off their 8 overs, while after 8 overs St Peters scored 59-1.
In their second match against Hutton CC it was more of a closer match with Hutton scoring 36-1 while St Peters scored 39-3.
This meant St Peters won their group matches and progressed to the finals where they faced Old Buckenham CC from Norfolk. St Peters were put into bat first and scored 60-2 off 8 overs and then with some tight bowling and defensive fielding St Peters bowled Old Buckenham CC out for 28 in 7.2 overs to be crowned regional Lady Taverners under 13 champions for 2014.
