The History of Sussex TV

Five years of coverage!

Sussex TV really began back in 2003, with the launch of the first-ever Sussex CCC DVD - 'This is History'. That DVD documented the climax of the 2003 season as Sussex won the First Division County Championship. This was followed by a 2004 Season Review, and then in 2005 the first double-DVD was available to cricket fans - 'Legacy'. This DVD tracked the Moores/Adams era, from 1998 to 2005, covering the ups and downs and climaxing with the Totesport Division 2 title win.

The idea of displaying this footage on our website existed back to 2003 as well, but plenty of work and research was required before we were able to test the idea in the summer of 2005. The first version of Sussex TV was launched in April 2005 to much success, with match highlights from every game (except broadcast fixtures) being available on the evening of the match. In addition, there were occasional interviews and behind the scenes footage. During that summer we also teamed up with Cricinfo to offer select movies of our international stars.

The 2006 and 2007 seasons saw Sussex TV enter a whole new phase. Completely re-vamped in terms of design and content, there were loads more sections, movies, teasers, competitions, analysis, fun features, documentaries, Academy coverage.........it went on and on! Furthermore, with a login facility in place, you could tailor your profile and select which features of the entire website you wish to have access to.

This year, for 2008, we have redesigned the whole website – including Sussex TV. Gone are the days of the confusing sign up packages.  All you need to do now is open up the Sussex Cricket website. If you want to look through past videos on Sussex TV, then you simply need to enter your e-mail address to sign up quickly and easily.

Never before has Sussex TV been so easy to use. Dive in to the rest of the website to see hundreds of new features designed to make the online experience a much more enjoyable one!
