Chance to Shine

Chance to Shine is a programme set up by the Cricket Foundation to increase the amount of competitive cricket in state Schools. The programme is driven and delivered primarily by Focus Clubs whereby clubs apply to the SCB to deliver a Chance to Shine scheme and if succcessful are given funding to deliver up to 280 hours coaching in around 6 local state schools for a 5 year period.

There are currently 15 Chance 2 Shine projects across the County, which equates to delivering cricket in approximately 100 schools. The projects are listed below:

East Grinstead CC (2 projects)

Horsham Community Cricket Partnership (2 projects)

Steyning CC

Bells Yew Green CC

Chiddingly CC

Burgess Hill CC

SCB Disability Project

SCB Girls Only Project

Crawley Cricket Development Group

Middleton CC

 

In 2008, the programme had 42,842 attendances. 

Applications for clubs to apply to be involved from 2010 onwards will be open in June.
